How we support you

Tax Credit & Incentives

The Italian system provides a tax credit for film production, currently being updated. For independent producers the rate has been redefined at 30%, with caps per work and annual ceilings per company. For foreign productions in Italy, the tax credit for executive production and post-production companies amounts to 40% of eligible expenses incurred on Italian territory, with a dedicated cap of 100 million euros. For co-productions, expenses incurred by the Italian partner may be eligible, providing a direct benefit.

Bilateral Agreements

Italy has a network of 49 bilateral co-production agreements with countries around the world. These treaties allow multiple nationality to be attributed to the film and access to funds from both countries involved, expanding financing possibilities.

European Funds: Eurimages & MEDIA

Co-productions involving Italy can access Eurimages, the Council of Europe fund that supports independent cinema in its 39 member states. Additionally, the Creative Europe MEDIA program offers development and distribution support through dedicated calls.

Minority Co-production

For projects set in Italy, we can enter as a minority partner, enabling access to tax credit and selective contributions. The 2025 call for selective contributions to minority co-productions has a budget of 6 million euros.

Majority Co-production

If the project needs a partner to lead the production, we can act as majority co-producer. We seek minority partners in other countries to structure stronger financial plans, leveraging international agreements and available funds.

Festivals & Networking

We are present at the most important European and world festivals: from Cannes to Venice, from the MIA International Audiovisual Market in Rome to the Co-Production Village in Les Arcs. In these contexts, we build relationships with producers, distributors and investors, creating opportunities for your projects.

Why Point Nemo is the right partner for your co-production

Knowledge of the Italian system

We know the Italian incentive system in its regulatory evolution and are able to guide you through the available opportunities, taking into account the new caps and redefined rates.

International network

We collaborate with producers in Europe, Asia, America and Africa. Our network allows us to find the right partners for each project and structure multi-country co-productions that access multiple funding sources.

Legal and contractual experience

We handle complex co-production contracts, defining participation shares, exploitation rights and agreements with international counterparts, ensuring a solid structure recognized by the competent authorities.

Track record and reliability

We have proven experience in co-productions with various countries. Each project has allowed us to refine the skills needed to face challenges and offer our partners stability and expertise.

Tailored opportunities for your project

If you are a foreign producer and want to shoot in Italy, we can be your minority partner. With a defined participation share, you can access the 40% tax credit on expenses incurred in Italy and the selective contributions provided for co-productions. Italian excellence – locations, crew, equipment and one of Europe's most competitive incentive systems – represents added value for your project.

If you are an Italian producer looking for international partners, we can help you identify countries with which Italy has bilateral agreements that offer competitive cash rebates. Through these agreements it is possible to structure advantageous co-productions that open the door to funds like Eurimages and expand financing possibilities.

If you have a project set in Italy, we can act as co-producers and enhance the connection with the territory. Italian stories, landscapes, culture and Made in Italy excellence are an added value that funds and evaluation commissions reward. Film tourism and territorial promotion are now strategic elements for obtaining funding.
